Why all the Interest in Flat Earth?

Without equivocation, the most widely read posts on this blog are those that describe and debunk the 2,500-year old myth that the earth is a flat, floating disk at the center of the cosmos.

I have to wonder why in the 21st century, with a host of so many other articles that I would think are far more interesting and should evoke even a mild interest or curiosity in the general reader, that these articles receive the most attention.

These articles will be public through the end of this month (July, 2017), after which I will be marking them private, hence they will no longer be available. Any individual who still seriously adheres to the notion that the earth is flat has issues that exceed the scope of this blog to address. The mere presence of these articles on this blog could be construed by some to ascribe some credibility, validity or veracity to the proposition that the earth is a flat disk, floating at the center of the universe.
